Jim started on his entrepreneurial journey when he created his own tech distribution company, EMJ Data Systems Ltd. Working from the trunk of his car he quickly grew this company to $350,000,000 in sales. After 10 years, Jim sold EMJ to SYNNEX, becoming the CEO and subsequently driving sales from $800,000,000 to $2 Billion between 2004 and 2009. Fast forwarding a few years, Jim returned to Guelph, where he founded DDE Media in 2014. Over the course of his career, Jim has invested in, advised, and mentored over 100 startup companies including Blackberry, where he was a board member since before they were public to 2009.
